Biography

Thomas Neumuth is vice director of the Innovation Center Computer Assisted Surgery (ICCAS) at the Leipzig University.

After completing an apprenticeship in Business and Administration at Siemens AG, he studied Electrical Engineering Management and Automation Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Leipzig. He received his PhD in medical engineering from the Leipzig University and habilitated in medical informatics.His research topics include the modeling of processes, workflow management systems, sensor system engineering for situation-dependent information systems in the biomedical engineering.He regularly organizes a number of workshops and tutorials at international conferences (MICCAI, CARS, CURAC), is board member of the German Society of Medical Informatics, Statistics, and Epidemiology (GMDS) and of the German Society for Computer- and Robot-assisted Surgery (CURAC) and regular member of the German Engineering Society (VDE) and the German Quality Society (DGQ).
